Θέμα: Δύο λεσβίες διεκδικούν να ζήσουν μαζί στη φυλακή με απεργία πείνας
Δύο λεσβίες, μετανάστριες και φυλακισμένες διεκδικούν το δικαίωμά τις στην ελεύθερη ανάπτυξη της προσωπικότητάς τις και στο σεβασμό της ιδιωτικής τις ζωής χωρίς παράνομη επέμβαση της πολιτείας, ζητώντας να μείνουν μαζί σε ένα κελί στη φυλακή.
Η άρνηση αυτού του δικαιώματος, υπό τις δεδομένες συνθήκες, αποτελεί διάκριση στη βάση του σεξουαλικού τις προσανατολισμού.
Η Les.Equal χθες βρέθηκαν στην είσοδο των γυναικείων φυλακών της Θήβας για να υποστηρίξουν την απεργία πείνας που ξεκίνησε το λεσβιακό ζευγάρι.
Η Lesb. Equal θα παρακολουθήσει ενεργά το έργο και τη στάση των Αρχών στην υπόθεση αυτή, θα ενημερώσει όλους τους σχετικούς ευρωπαϊκούς οργανισμούς σχετικά με την υπόθεση, συνεργαζόμενη στενά με τη ΜΚΟ Ελληνική Δράση για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα.
Την υπεράσπιση του λεσβιακού ζευγαρίου ανέλαβε η ΜΚΟ Ελληνική Δράση για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα - Πλειάδες, δια της Προέδρου της και Δικηγόρου Αθηνών κ. Ηλέκτρας – Λήδας Κούτρα.
Κρίνουμε απαραίτητο να μην πεθάνει κάποια, προκειμένου να καταλάβουν οι αρχές, επιτέλους, πόσο σοβαρά και πολλά είναι τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν οι δύο λεσβίες, θα διεκδικήσουμε δε, συνεπείς στη μέχρι σήμερα δράση μας, το ζευγάρι αυτό, αλλά και κάθε ζευγάρι λεσβιών, να μην υφίστανται διακριτική μεταχείριση λόγω της ιδιότητάς τις αυτής.
Ζητάμε από την πολιτεία να μην επιβάλλει μια ακόμη ποινή που, μάλιστα, δεν προβλέπεται σε Νόμο, στην ήδη υπάρχουσα ποινή, που εκτίεται νόμιμα από τις δυο λεσβίες, και να αποδώσει ισότητα χωρίς καμιά διάκριση, σεβόμενη τις εθνικές και τις ευρωπαϊκές δεσμεύσεις της χώρας μας.

Subject: Two lesbians claim to live together in prison through hunger strike
Two lesbians, immigrants and prisoners claim their right in free development of their personality and in respect of their private lives without an unlawful state intervention, requesting to share a cell in prison.
The denial of their right, under the circumstances, constitutes a discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation.
“Les.Equal” arrived yesterday in the entrance of women’s prison in Thebes to support the hunger strike that the lesbian couple has started.
“Les.Equal” will actively monitor the action and attitude of authorities concerning this case and will notify all the relative european organisations concerning this case in close collaboration with the NGO ''Hellenic Action for human rights - Pleiades”.
Mrs Electra-Leda Koutra a woman lawyer from Athens and president of the NGO “Hellenic Action for human rights-Pleiades” has undertaken the advocacy of the lesbian couple.
We believe that it is important to avoid the death of the two lesbians, so that the state can finally realise the seriousness and the number of problems that the two lesbians face and we will claim-consistent to our actions until now-for this and for any other lesbian couple not to suffer from discrimination due to their nature.
We request from the state not to impose another sentence –which is not included in the present sentence-on the present sentence that the two lesbians are legally serving, and to serve equality without any discrimination, respecting the national and european commitments of our country.
