Μόλις χθες ενημερωθήκαμε για την συμμετοχή της ILGA-Europe σε εκδήλωση κατά του εκφοβισμού (bullying), στα σχολεία. Ενώ ουσιαστικά θεωρούμε σημαντικές κ αναγκαίες τέτοιου είδους διοργανώσεις, αρνούμαστε να υποστηρίξουμε την συγκεκριμένη, αφού είναι υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας και συνδιοργανώτρια η ΜΚΟ “Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού”.
Θα θυμίσουμε: α) την υπόθεση της “Μαρίας” την οποία ακόμη εκμεταλλεύεται η ίδια ΜΚΟ, 1* και β) πως η ΕΛ.ΑΣ έχει διαθέσει δωρεές προς την ΜΚΟ «Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού». 2*
Επιπλέον, θέλουμε να τονίσουμε πως η Ελλάδα ελάχιστα έχει κάνει για να υπάρξουν καμπάνιες σε σχολεία γύρω από τις επιθέσεις βίας και μίσους που αντιμετωπίζουν μαθήτριες-ές λόγω του σεξουαλικού τους προσανατολισμού ή-και της ταυτότητας κοινωνικού φύλου. Δεν έχει εφαρμόσει ακόμη την απόφαση του Ευρωπαϊκού Δικαστηρίου Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων στην υπόθεση Βαλλιανάτος για την εφαρμογή του συμφώνου συμβίωσης και στα LGBTIQ ζευγάρια. Αναβάλλει να ψηφίσει τον αντιρατσιστικό νόμο εδώ και ένα χρόνο.
Με τα παραπάνω είναι προφανές πως η Ελληνική Προεδρία σε συνεργασία με την ΜΚΟ “Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού” προσπαθούν να δείξουν πως πράττουν υπέρ των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, πράγμα που δεν είναι αληθές (pink-washing).
Η διοργάνωση αυτή εμφανίζεται σχεδόν ανταγωνιστική στο Athens Pride, 2-3 ημέρες πριν την κεντρική εκδήλωση και κατά τη διάρκεια της εβδομάδας σχετικών εκδηλώσεων του.
Παραμένουμε επιφυλακτικές στη διοργάνωση μιας καμπάνιας από φορείς 3* που ως τώρα δεν έχουν δώσει δείγματα θετικά προς τα LGBTIQ δικαιώματα, παρακολουθούμε τις εξελίξεις και καλούμε όλα τα μέλη της LGBTIQ κοινότητας να διαμορφώσουμε μια στάση από κοινού, για να αποφασίσουμε αν θα νομιμοποιήσουμε με την παρουσία μας μια τέτοια διοργάνωση.

Η ΜΚΟ Athens Pride αφού συνυπέγραψε το δελτίο τύπου για τρεις μέρες(24-26), αποφάσισε την απόσυρση της υπογραφής χωρίς να αιτιολογήσει.

PRESS RELEASE
Just yesterday we were informed about the participation of ILGA-Europe in a protestation against bullying in schools. Though we essentially consider that such protestations are important and necessary, we refuse to support this specific one, since the supported by the Greek Presidency and the co-organiser is the NGO "The Smile of the Child".
Let us remind : a)The case of "Maria", which is still exploited by the same NGO 1* and
b)The fact that the GREEK POLICE has provided donations towards the NGO "The Smile of the Child" 2*.
Furthermore, we would like to point out that Greece has taken minimum action for the realization of campaigns in schools on the subject of attacks of violence and hatred that students suffer on the basis of their sexual orientation or-and their gender identity.
Greece has still not applied the decision of the European Court on Human Rights in the case Vallianatos for the appliance of the Cohabitation Agreement also for the LGBTIQ couples. The country postpones the voting for the anti-racist law for over a year. It is obvious with the above that the Greek Presidency in collaboration with the NGO "The Smile of the Child" are trying to show that they are taking action in favor of human rights, which is not true(pink-washing). This organisation appears to be almost antagonistic - competitive against Athens Pride, 2-3 days before the main event and during the week of its relevant events.
We remain reserved when cosidering a campaign organised by organisations 3* that have so far not demonstated any positive action in favor of LGBTIQ rights and we monitor the progress and invite all the members of the LGBTIQ Community to commonly form a perspective, so as to decide whether we will legalise such an event with our presence.

The NGO Athens Pride has co-signed the press release three days ago (24 May), but decided today (27 May) to withdraw its support without further explanations.
